This clinical review evaluates the current treatment methodologies of Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).The authors aim to critically evaluate the effectiveness of management strategies from prevention to treatment in current practice. The article talks about Schroth Physiotherapeutic Scoliosis-Specific Exercises (PSSE) and recent evidence from randomised controlled trials supporting efficacy in AIS management using spinal curve specific exercise protocols, that are individual to patients and have been shown to stabilise and improve curves. It is a nice overview of the treatment options including the Schroth Method which we practice here at Scoliosis Physiotherapy, Bracing (which we also provide), Surgery, and School Screening Programs. In the absence of school screening programs in Australia, we offer FREE screening here at Scoliosis Physiotherapy.
