Scoliosis specific group conditioning classes
Scoliosis Physiotherapy offers exercise/ conditioning classes for those with scoliosis and hyper-kyphosis.
The group sessions are open for those clients who have been trained in their individualised exercises at our clinic. You need to speak with your physiotherapist to see if you are ready to join the group classes. If you have not yet been trained, you are welcome to contact us and we can get you started (either in-clinic or virtually through Telehealth).
The classes are a great option for maintaining motivation and consistency in training, improving technique and building upon what you have learned through your Physiotherapy led program. We also offer Virtual classes for those unable to get to in-clinic classes and for those who want the practicality of training in the privacy and convenience of their own home!
Group training is also a great way to meet others.
The classes include:
- Step-by-step demonstrations and verbal cueing of each exercise: We explain and demonstrate the key exercises and individualise them to your specific needs.
- Scoliosis Specific Exercises: We lead you through the scoliosis specific key exercises you have learnt (approximately 30 minutes) and will adapt/select key positions/ exercises each week to ensure your technique is being maintained and progress you along as your strength and ability does.
- Suitable Exercises relating to strength training, Pilates and Yoga for scoliosis: Strengthen and align your body with exercise adaptations suitable for scoliosis and hyperkyphosis including: Stabilization exercises, dynamic movement control, safe stretching, and balance/proprioception (approximately 30 minutes).
