We are Australia’s longest established physiotherapy practice dedicated exclusively to the management of scoliosis and other structural variations of the ribcage and spine.
About Us
Rebecca Harding had been working with complex spinal conditions for close to a decade before completing her first international scoliosis training in 2010. Within 2 years she knew it was the only population group she wanted to work with.
Lack of readily available information for people with scoliosis and seeing the stress in people having to wait long times for specialist appointments, lead to the inception of Scoliosis Physiotherapy.
Scoliosis Physiotherapy was created in 2012 to provide education, guidance and treatments for people with structural scoliosis and other conditions effecting alignment such as structural Juvenile Hyperkyphosis (Scheuermann), Pectus Excavatum and Pectus Carinatum.
To be more reachable for people, we expanded beyond our Kew East primary location, opening satellite practices in Caulfield and Geelong (Belmont) and of course continue to offer Telehealth consultations across Australia and abroad.
We soon expanded also our services to include the provision of 3D scoliosis bracing and Scheuermann bracing services, because in Australia at the time, options were very limited and dated compared to the more advanced bracing methods being instilled across Europe.
Scoliosis Physiotherapy also has become an international training centre for the Rigo Concept (BSPTS) scoliosis qualification. Rebecca is very proud of the dedicated physiotherapists, orthotists and doctors who have traveled from far and wide to learn how to better manage their patients with scoliosis. She now has trained practitioners in the Northern Territory, Queensland, NSW, ACT, South Australia and Western Australia, not to forget to mention those from Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand who have flown to attend training – well done and thanks to all of you.
