Schroth improved pain and self-image scores

Just published, this is a high quality (randomized controlled trial) from Canada that specifically looks at the effect of Schroth when added to the usual American care of just observation or bracing in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

In Europe, recommendations specify scoliosis specific exercises as a stand alone therapy and to be done in conjunction with bracing and observation. This research paper is part of a number that will be published in an on-going trial.

This reports the findings at 6 months on quality of life and also muscle endurance. It finds Schroth exercises provided added benefit by improving pain and self image scores as well as improved back muscle endurance.
